Bring soft texture and natural detail to your staircase with Pattingham Grey Wood. Designed with the look of natural timber and the everyday practicality of steel, it helps create a continuous handrail run across half-landing staircases without the upkeep of real wood.
The grey wood effect finish is created using a vinyl wrap process, bonding a decorative surface to a strong steel core. This gives the handrail subtle grain, gentle tonal variation, and a lighter, easier-to-maintain design that is simple to clean and made for everyday living.
Unlike a standard painted finish, Pattingham Grey Wood has texture and tonal variation that gives the handrail a softer, more natural look. It brings the character of wood into the space, but with less maintenance than real timber. There is no sanding, staining or sealing needed, making it a practical choice for modern homes, neutral schemes and interiors with natural textures.
A discreet join line will be present on the underside of each pole as part of the wrapping process. This is a normal feature of the finish and should be positioned facing downwards during installation, where it will sit out of sight once fitted.
Designed for staircases with a half landing, this system helps the handrail follow the change in direction while keeping the line neat and continuous. Suitable for floor-to-floor heights up to 2800mm, it can be fitted to half-landing staircases turning left or right.

Poles can be cut to length if your staircase measures under 8.4 metres. Use a fine-toothed hacksaw with 24 to 32 TPI.
